Machine and installation: three essentials
First, identify the single-, twin- or four-shaft configuration and machine model. Second, confirm the knife profile, shaft bore, thickness and arrangement. Third, identify stationary knives, spacers and other mating parts. If drawings are unavailable, provide photographs, measurements of the used knife or a sample.
Material and output: two operating inputs
Fourth, describe material composition, maximum feed size, contaminants and moisture. Fifth, specify target throughput, output size and operating shifts. Knives with similar profiles are not necessarily suitable for the same duty. Machine and knife specialists should review the parameters together.
Wear history and delivery: two planning inputs
Sixth, record wear, chipping, wrapping and reasons for replacement. Seventh, provide the purchase quantity, spare-parts plan and target delivery date. After technical review, confirm the drawing revision, acceptance requirements and packaging.
